eyeofthehurricane: Just Write

As the "voice" within becomes louder, and is strengthened by the requests of others, I am now inviting an audience to become part of what, up until now, has been my private joy... to "Just write".

Last month, I went to a journaling workshop at Changing Hands which was facilitated by a writer/author and she told me to do what I have been resisting, "You need to blog." Some beginning blog background:

My daughter-in-law (I don't like that term - too impersonal), Mairi, invited me to visit her blog site, where I now have the pleasure of enjoying her writing, and seeing photos of her, Cliff (my son), and Declan (grandson).

In order to comment on Mairi's blog site, I had to create a password, which I assumed would then simply allow me to write to her, after which it would disappear. At that time, Hurricane Ike was pounding Texas and I was researching the dynamics of the eye of the hurricane. For my password, I chose "eyeofthehurricane". As it turned out, this phrase somehow became permanently attached to everything I did on my blog site.

As I expressed my frustration with not being able to shake off these words, Mairi responded, "I think your screen-name is eerily appropriate for you!" So, I am embracing it, especially since those words have now connected themselves (I swear, I didn't add them) to my site name "Just Write."

I then began to wade through the steps to get my site up and running, and was feeling quite accomplished. The following day, I was going to venture out and begin blogging, when I received an email informing me that, "...Your blog at: http://eyeofthehurricane-justwrite.blogspot.com/has been identified as a potential spam blog. To correct this, please request a review by filling out the form at... Thank you for your understanding and for your help with our spam-fighting efforts." Was this a sign? Am I doomed for failure as an official blogger? I guess we'll find out.

I am now cleared by the spam police to "Just Write". So, it begins.
