Not Just Teddy Bears and Rainbows

In pursuit of living with no regrets, I won’t be quitting my job so I can travel the world and Eat, Pray, Love. I doubt that a wealthy stranger is going to find my Bucket List tucked away in my dresser drawer and finance a trip to fulfill my dreams of seeing a moose, the Northern Lights, and the mountaintop where Julie Andrews twirled around and sang, “The hills are alive with the sound of music.” I don’t expect my life to suddenly be filled with teddy bears and rainbows.

I perceive a year with no regrets as one where I wake up each day to ordinary, but expect the extraordinary. I take risks. I miss opportunities. I make mistakes. But there are no Regrets - Feelings of sorrow or remorse for (an act, fault, disappointment, etc.), because even in missed opportunities and mistakes, lessons are learned and amends made. Living is an action verb, and while action and living will be messy, I’m stepping out and following my heart.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
